!--ToastEdit--font face="Courier New" size="2" color="Black"PDid you use Virtual DJ for this one? The transitions are very good and a good selection of songs overall for the theme. My only suggestions is to watch your levels, the second half of the podcast got a lot louder. It's something that I still work on a lot with my own podcasts and DJing. I try to think about someone listening with headphones and trying not to blast them. Oh and old reggae records like to get louder midway through, sooooo, that's always fun when you've walked away from your tables./P

I thought the Aggrolites wrote "Prisoner Song"? I've never heard a Toots & the Maytals version, and in the liner notes of the Aggrolites' s/t it says all songs written by the Aggrolites. And I thought "Can I Change My Mind" was an Alton Ellis original?

I think you are right about Prisoner Song. "Can I Change My Mind" is actually a soul song, before the Alton version. Tyrone Davis did a famous version, but I don't know who did the original.

Also, Ernest Wilson did "Money Worries" for Studio One before the Maytones Version.

Takin' you to school,

The song is based heavily off Funky Kingston.

There's a good theme for a podcast. Songs based on other songs versus straight up covers. Reggae is teaming with them.

Here's one to start:
River to the Bank - Derrick Morgan influenced Can't Take What Happen on the West - Big Youth

I'm sure some other song influenced the Morgan one.
