Nice line-up! Are any of the bands moving pre-sale tickets that I can buy off them? If not, I'll probably just wait and pay $13.00 the night of the show --> Ticketmaster's fees are over 50% of the ticket price -- $6.55 for an $11.00 ticket. |

Tickmaster and fees in general seem to be a little bit out of control lately. $20 Alkaline Trio tickets at the Troc are coming out to $34.90 |

I'm sure that the locals can hook you up. RTY will definitely have some.
The fees are definitely out of control. It discourages advanced sales as well as attendance in general.
Keeping the relationship with Ticketmaster going is increasingly not in the Troc's best interest. Especially with Live Nation and Ticketmaster now merging. There are much cheaper alternatives that won't fuel the competition. What they would lose out on is the people who use Ticketmaster to seek out events. |

I've been trying to see Tip the Van the last two times they came to town, but had other stuff already scheduled those days. Cannot wait to see them this weekend! |

My ticket I picked up through CotM arrived in the mail today. Score! Going to be beat the next day tho since I'm sure it will be a late night, then daylight savings hits, then on Sunday I drive up to northern Maine. (12 hour drive!) Will all be worth it tho!

I remember that article, though I wasn't at the show. But I think Sean was. It was one of the few articles at the time that got most of the information right. Most ska articles around that time were completely awful like, "ska is a form of punk and reggae and newer bands are drawing from such traditional ska bands as No Doubt...."
Nice mention of FYI also. I'll have to pass that on to Rathskeller's bass player who was quoted at a WKDU DJ.

The Bullbuckers had a great time all around welcoming people in when the doors opened. Glad we could be a part of the night. We had a chance to watch Case of The Mondays knock out a super high energy set- it's cool to see musicians get into their music!
Sadly, we had to leave to play an additional show in Delaware leaving before the Forthrights which really chafed my chaffs because I loved what I've heard on MySpace. My girlfriend stayed and watched them (soo jealus) and told me how great they were and confirmed how much I would have loved them. (Thanks hun.)
Anyway, I'd love to hear how the rest of the night went! Can anyone that was there post a heads up?
Keep on skanking!
Cheers,
Kev |
