You knew that it had to be coming: we have some Slackers tickets to give away for our 12/20 show at the TLA courtesy of Live Nation. This time around, we are going to be offering up a whopping 5 PAIRS OF TICKETS to our lucky winners.
So how do you enter to win? Just post a reply to this topic naming your favorite Slackers tunes by Sunday, December 6th at noon EST.
Make sure that your active e-mail address is set in your PhillySka account profile because that is how we will contact you if you are selected.
You can post as many times as you like to this topic, but you will only be counted once. Winners will be randomly selected by software.
Good luck to all of you! |

Drop my name in the hat. Last saw the Slackers in the basement of the First Unitarian Church a couple years ago, great show. If I'm in the winner pool tho I don't know if I could find anyone to use the 2nd ticket... we'll see what happens, could be a separate giveaway for a single ticket.
EDIT: Oops, forgot favorite song detail. Probably "Nurse" off Wasted Days, but I really like listening to a series of tracks off that CD. "So This Is The Night", "Made Up My Mind", "Sermon" and "Nurse" just flow so well from one to the other.

Use the second ticket to take me Craig, my husband won't mind.
So I'm throwing my name in because I've seen the Slackers about a hundred times and it has almost always been at the Church starting maybe in 1996 or 97. I'd actually like to see them in a venue that has good sound, will sell me alcohol, and won't make me slide across the floor.
My favorite songs are "You Don't Know I" and "Have the time."
I guess I'll take Sean with the extra ticket. I'll also make him post, thus increasing our odds.

It's tough to single one song out, one of my tops would probably be Don't Forget The Streets. |

It would be awesome if you sent me those tickets, for it would be the first time I will have ever seen them live. |

Tough call on singling out favorite Slackers songs... Immediate cuts that come to mind: I Still Love You, Feed My Girl (I often wonder where the money goes as a struggling musician in a ska band.) That rabbit hole runs deep with bejeweled laden carrots throughout the warren.
And now, a shameless plug to all the Philly Rude boys and Girls- This Saturday December 5th at The Khyber! Get down with some righteous offbeat when Abstract Roots, Bullbuckers, and Ruder Than You descend on Old City. |

"Wasted Days" is always a lovely song to listen to.
Also, "Sarah". |

This will be my last ska show in the USA for over 2 years! My wife and I moving to Ecuador then to Costa Rica to volunteer our time with local NGOs.
Also, the Slackers are one of my favorite bands ever (and I'm poor).
Some of my favorite songs are:
Old Dog, Propaganda, Sarah, Self-Medication, International War Criminal, Happy Song, and Run Away.
(here's hoping I get picked... the gas alone to make the trip is expensive enough) |

"The Question" as an album, but my favorite off that is "Yes, It's True". |

My favorite Slackers song (though not my favorite for a live show) is Make Me Smile.
I also favor nearly every other song on The Question.
Please give me a pair of tickets! I'm a poor college student! |
