Coming up on Friday, April 16th at the North Star Bar is the famous Cherry Poppin' Daddies, The Bullbuckers, and On Display. You can enter to win one of two pairs of tickets to the show courtesy of PhillySka.com and the North Star Bar!

Ticket Giveaway! - Bob Marley's Legend Live @ Keswick Theatre
The classic Legend compilation of Bob Marley's material was released in 1984 and remains the most well-known, despite there being a large number of others. It stands firmly as the best selling reggae album of all time.
On Saturday, February 6th, the Classic Albums Live group will be performing the album in its entirety at the Keswick Theatre. This group is not a run-of-the-mill cover band. They are obsessed with the details and strive to faithfully reproduce, note-for-note, the sound of their source material. This means finding performers perfectly suited for the job.
We have 3 pairs of tickets to give away to this event courtesy of the Keswick Theatre and AEG Live. All that you have to do to enter is reply to this thread on the board by noon on February 4th. Full details may be found within.
Slackers Ticket Giveaway (5 Pairs)!

Yeah, this is a last minute surprise announcement but it just happened this afternoon. It's an awesome treat for everyone attending Ska Is Dead:
We will be giving away 10 PAIRS of tickets to this Sunday's show with Less Than Jake and The Casualties at the TLA!

Ska Is Dead - Ticket Giveaway!
We have 2 pairs of tickets to Ska Is Dead to give away and this time we are teaming up with University Goes Ska (a ska radio show on WKDU) to do it.
To win, you will have to listen to the radio show on Tuesday night, November 10th, from 5-7pm. It can be heard around Philadelphia on 91.7FM or streaming live online through wkdu.org. Your host, Monika, will reveal the full details during the show but the gist of it is that you will have to listen for a passphrase to use when you call in to the station. That number is 215-895-5917. It's their request line, so be sure to call in with your requests too.

Giveaway - Cherry Poppin' Daddies Gift Pack!
With "Zoot Suit Riot", the title track of their compilation of swing songs, Cherry Poppin' Daddies burst on to the charts in 1997 and spearheaded a short-lived revival of interest in swing. Many don't realize that there is much more to the band than their forays into swing. They span an eclectic array of styles. Of these, ska is one of the more prevalent ones and their success is tied to it. As a fixture in the third-wave ska scene of the Bay Area, the band built up quite a name for itself while playing alongside many now-classic ska acts.
The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are back in action and playing live in Philadelphia on November 13th at the World Cafe Live. This tour is to promote two new releases: Susquehanna along with Skaboy JFK: The Skankin' Hits of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies (a ska-themed compilation of their material). If you're not going to Ska Is Dead you should definitely check out this show and everyone should give the albums a listen.
