10/9 - Slackers Show Lineup Overhaul

We now have a night full of tight ska, reggae, and soul. The Slackers are of course still the headliner. Supporting them we know have the Boston soul sounds of Jordan Valentine and the Sunday Saints. It will be a hell of a lot of fun, so be sure to come to out and to spread the word!

Alert: Venue Change for Ska Is Dead!

Ska Is Dead has been moved to the Starlight Ballroom, located at 460 N. 9th St. in Philly. This is due to the 941 Theater getting shut down indefinitely for an L&I violation. Looking on the bright side, the Starlight Ballroom is a great venue that comes with the benefit of a bar. The 21+ will surely appreciate that.

Please spread the word so that everyone will know about the change.

Ska Is Dead Tour 2009The Ska Is Dead Tour is a package tour concept developed by Dave Kirchgessner, the lead singer of Mustard Plug, in 2004 with the goal of spreading and maintaining the love for ska music. It is easily the highest-profile tour of ska in North America.

This year's tour is its fourth iteration and PhillySka.com is proud to be hosting it the first time at the 941 Theater on Friday, November 13th. Our leg of the tour consists of The Toasters, Mustard Plug, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Deal's Gone Bad. We've kicked up the awesomeness by adding Philly's own Last Martyrs of a Lost Cause.
